Levitan Capstone Challenge: A gift to the Free for All, Forever Endowment

Inspired by the Free for All Forever campaign and committed to ensuring that everyone should enjoy MAG’s world-class collections, the Levitan Capstone Challenge of $1 million dollars will help us complete the museum’s Free for All Forever campaign. Al and Lucy Levitan’s support ensures that every new gift from today forward to the Free For All Forever campaign will be matched, up to one million dollars. 

For this year’s Day of Giving, we remember friend of the museum Dr. Alexander A. Levitan ’63M (MD), a renowned physician and humanitarian, who died on March 29, 2026. 

Visionary philanthropists, Al and Lucy Levitan have long believed in access and have transformed the lives of many young people. Through endowed scholarships and fellowship funds, they have provided opportunities for students at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry. They also donated several works of art to MAG’s collection. 

We invite our museum members, friends, and neighbors to make a gift to the Levitan Capstone Challenge. Together we can make MAG a truly public resource.
