The carillon is one of the University of Rochester’s most distinctive musical traditions—its daily ringing offering moments of joy, reflection, and connection for everyone on campus. Thanks to alumni and community generosity, the program has grown steadily in recent years, making meaningful enhancements such as renovating the Hopeman Carillon, refurbishing the practice keyboard in Spurrier Hall, and installing livestreaming equipment so the music can reach even more people.
This Giving Tuesday, your support will help the carillon program continue to thrive by meeting our most immediate needs: providing an honorarium for a guest master class instructor, expanding our sheet music library, and offering scholarships to Eastman Community Music School students studying the instrument. These resources enrich both the student experience and the cultural life of our campus.
Your generosity keeps this beloved tradition strong—ensuring we can share diverse music that inspires belonging, curiosity, and the spirit of Meliora. Thank you for helping the carillon ring ever better this season and beyond.
