What is Student Day of Giving?
- Student Day of Giving is a Rochester Tradition celebrating student philanthropy and giving back to the University. A gift of any amount makes a big difference for current and future students!
Why should I make a gift?
- To show appreciation for the academic department, athletic team, student organization, etc. that has shaped your URochester experience.
- To pay it forward to future students. Philanthropic support provides scholarships for students and additional budget to campus life.
I want to submit a post to the Social Media Challenge, where do I start?
- Capture a short video or snap a photo showcasing the area of URochester you love, and why it should be supported on Student Day of Giving. Check out a few prompts:
- Show Your Rochester Spirit - Share why the area you support is important to the URochester community and how it’s had an impact on your experience
- Proudest Moment - showcase what you are most proud of. For example, did your team recently win a competition or did your lab present at a conference? Celebrate your wins!
Who is URBee?
URBee (pronounced “Erbie”) was the University of Rochester's mascot from 1983-2008. While Urbee was replaced by Rocky to better reflect the University’s athletics programs and competitive spirit, he is still beloved among alumni and students for his quirkiness and charm.
